Hoosier Pup Dog Training is dedicated to developing and improving the relationship between a dog and their owner. For over two decades, Corey Plunkett has worked with thousands of dogs and their owners regarding many behavior issues. From extreme aggression to funny quirks, sessions are available for all behaviors and breeds.
From puppy classes and basic obedience to extreme behavior issues, we have multiple options available. Whether it’s in-home training or recurring group classes, you and your pet will be able to find the best fit for your needs and lifestyle.
Our Training Philosophy
"Properly trained humans can be a dog’s best friend".
Dogs meet our needs every single day with their unconditional love. As responsible dog owners it is our job to meet their needs as well. When your dog's needs are not met, you will experience behavioral issues such as:
• Pulling you on walks
• Leash Reactivity
(alerts to other dogs, people, animals, etc..)
• Showing Dominance or signs of aggression
• Barking • Jumping
• Resource Guarding • Separation Anxiety
• Over Excitement • Chewing
• Digging • Disobedience
We bridge the gap between dog and owner. The only difference between a well-behaved dog and a dog that has these behavioral issues is a knowledgeable owner. That's where we come in. Hoosier Pup works not just with your dog, but with the whole family. We will teach you how to properly meet your dog's needs. The goal is to create an environment that your dog will be well-behaved and enjoyable to be around!
Our approach is a common sense, balanced training method.
The Hoosier Pup trainers explain everything to it's simplest form so your dog can understand what we want from them immediately. Dogs by nature are a pack animal, begging for leadership and pack cohesiveness. Our job as professional dog trainers is to fix your dog's unwanted behaviors, but also to educate you and build your confidence in how to properly handle your dog. You will see results immediately during our first session. This means that your dog's behavior, and your relationship with your dog, is only a phone call away!
Why In-Home Training? Our training is all private, in the comfort of your home sessions, allowing us to fix the issues in your dog's environment. Taking the dog out of their environment changes their behavior which makes it impossible to fix the actual problem. Every dog is different. That's why our training is specifically tailored to meet your dog's needs. Other training facilities will focus on ONLY training the dog. Hoosier Pup focuses on changing the dog AND their humans.
Are Classes Available? Hoosier Pup group classes are for existing clients only. After having a session with one of our trainers, you are qualified to sign up for a group class. We restrict our classes only to existing private session clients. This ensures everyone is on the same page and already have a deep understanding of how our training program works. The class is built and designed to practice “real life dog training”. We teach our dogs how to behave around multiple dogs, in real life settings, with numerous distractions and obstacles that you actually see on your everyday walks. These group classes are unlike any other!
We're here to help! Send any questions or requests to us and we will respond quickly. We look forward to hearing from you.
